On this day, 64 years ago, on March 15, 1961 (January 29, 1961 in the lunar calendar), the central government formulated the "Sixty Articles of Agriculture." From March 15 to 23, 1961, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held a meeting in Guangzhou. Mao Zedong presided over. Discuss and formulate the "Regulations on the Work of Rural People's Communes (Draft)" for short as the "Sixty Articles of Agriculture". There are 60 articles in the full text. The regulations summarize the experience of rural people's communes over the past three years and make relatively systematic provisions in response to the problems of large scale of cooperatives and teams, egalitarianism, the commune's excessive and rigid management of subordinates, and the imperfect democratic system and management system. In May and June of the same year, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China revised the draft and formulated the "Rural People's Communes Work Regulations (Revised Draft)" for discussion and trial use, further stipulating the abolition of the supply system in distribution and the suspension of public canteens. On September 27, 1962, the Tenth Plenary Session of the Eighth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China formally adopted the "Regulations on the Work of Rural People's Communes (Draft Amendment)".
