On the coast of the South China Sea in Time Square, at the foot of the Microwave Mountain, a newly renovated "Time is Money, Efficiency is Life" commemorative plaque was newly unveiled at the "First Explosion" of China's reform and opening up. The rumbling blasting sound and the roar of motors merged into an unprecedentedly loud and cheerful movement. Previously, Microwave Mountain and Jingshan were an integrated nameless mountain. Yuan Geng chose this saddle location for blasting in order to open up external traffic for the dock. He believed that the blasting had commemorative value and specially invited Zhujiang Film Studio to film a documentary on this. Record, on the morning of July 8, the sound of blasting was deafening, and history was fixed at this moment-a brand new export-oriented industrial zone was born in Shenzhen, the forefront of China's opening up to the outside world, opening the curtain of the Republic's reform and opening up. This nameless mountain was named Microwave Mountain because of the microwave station for external communication. In January 1984, Deng Xiaoping stopped here to look at Hong Kong. At the end of 1981, the slogan "Time is money, efficiency is life" was erected in Shekou. This slogan awakened the long-sleeping land of China and was praised as "the first spring thunder to break through the imprisonment of thought". It was widely spread in the land of China and became the first voice for the Chinese people to break the closure and move towards opening up. In order to better remember history and create a future, the "Time is Money, Efficiency is Life" commemorative plaque renovated by the Nanshan District Committee and Government was newly unveiled at the "First Explosion" of China's reform and opening up. Shekou Industrial Zone named it "Time Square". According to reports, the design of "Time Square" is inspired by the annual ring shape of trees. By focusing on the landscape wall of "Time is money, efficiency is life", it highlights the theme concept of time.
