St. Francis Xavier, one of the founders of the Jesuit order, passed away

St. Francis of Xavier (also translated as St. Francis of Xavier, Spanish: San Francisco Javier, English: St. Francis of Xavier, April 7, 1506-December 3, 1552) was one of the founders of the Jesuit Order, who first spread Catholicism to Malacca and Japan in Asia. The Catholic Church calls him "the greatest missionary in history"; he is the "patron of the missionaries."

Shawliot is the patron of the two dioceses of China, Japan, Goa and Macau. The feast is held on December 3 every year.

Comments: A very famous figure in the history of missionary affairs is also mentioned in Matteo Ricci's China Notes.
