On June 9, 2008 (May 6, 2008 in the lunar calendar), the "Zhongxing 9" radio and television live broadcast satellite was launched into space. At 20:15 on June 9, 2008, my country successfully launched the "Zhongxing 9" radio and television live broadcast satellite into space using the "Long March 3B" carrier rocket at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. This is the 107th launch of the Long March series of launch vehicles. The "Zhongxing-9" satellite is a radio and television live broadcast satellite ordered by China Satellite Communications Corporation from France's Thales Alenia Aerospace Company. It will be used to carry out the transmission business of live broadcast of China TV programs to households. When satellites are put into use, tens of millions of families will be able to directly watch the Beijing Olympics.
