On this day, 29 years ago, on March 12, 1996 (January 23, 1996, the lunar calendar), China military conducted live-fire naval exercises in the East China Sea and South China Sea. From March 12 to 20, 1996, the Air Force and Navy of the People's Liberation Army of China successively held large-scale joint combat real-fire exercises of various arms in the East China Sea and the South China Sea. Moving fighter jets, ships, missiles, and electronic warfare equipment closely coordinated during the exercise, demonstrating strong air and sea strike power. The air force missiles, surface-to-air missiles, ship-to-air missiles, and ship-to-ship missiles launched during this sea and air exercise were all ready to hit the target.
