Bartok Bela was born on March 25, 1881 in a musical family in Nagisent-Miklos, Hungary, present-day Romania. The earliest piano lessons were taught by his mother. From 1894 to 1894, he studied under conductor Erkel in Bratislava until he entered the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest in 1899. In 1903, he created the nationalized sound poem "Kosut". At the same time he toured abroad as a solo pianist, playing works by Liszt and other keyboard masters. In 1905, he began to systematically study Hungarian national music. In 1906, he collaborated with the composer Kodai to publish an episode of 20 folk songs. In 1907, he became professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music in Budapest. In 1917, the ballet "The Woodcut Prince" was successfully performed in Budapest. In 1911, the one-act opera "The Castle of the Duke of the Bluebeard" was performed. In 1922, his first two violin sonatas premiered in London. In the 1920s, he resumed his artistic career as a pianist. In 1934, the Hungarian Academy of Sciences offered him a salaried position to prepare for the publication of a folk song collection. At the same time, he also created works such as "The Magical Official" and "The First Violin Concerto". Immigrated to the United States in the spring of 1940.
