On this day, 27 years ago, on September 25, 1998 (August 5, 1998 in the lunar calendar), China C(City) Network was officially launched. On September 25, 1998, my country's network application technology made breakthrough progress. The high-tech information network project independently designed by my country-"China C (City) Network" made a breakthrough in solving computer Internet application problems and was officially launched today. The total investment in my country's information highways is about 300 billion yuan. There are about 20 million computers across the country. Currently, only about 1.2 million computers are actually connected to the Internet, and more than half of them are individual users. Most computers operate at a low level and low efficiency, resulting in the situation of "fewer cars on the road"(meaning fewer Internet users) and "fewer people on the road"(meaning less practical information); and domestic networks rely on the Internet without exception, resulting in low economic benefits. After nearly 8 years of exploration, Zhongcheng Network Development Co., Ltd. has independently developed a "Information Broadcasting, Access and Method System". Its core technology not only has functions such as Internet documents, emails, browsing and query, but also provides functions such as full-network retrieval, full-network broadcasting, user-independently developing information homepage, and user-independently publishing advertisements. China's C network adopts offline query methods, which effectively solves the problem of network busy and congestion, and also greatly reduces the investment cost of the network. At present, China's C network has been opened in more than a dozen cities including Beijing, Chengdu, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.
