On April 1, 1578, William Harvey, the famous British physiologist and doctor, was born in the town of Folkestone, Kent. His father was originally a free man and later became an official in the town government. 1588-1593 After graduating from the Royal School of Canterbury in 1997, Harvey was admitted to Cambridge University to study literature and medicine, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 1597. In 1598, Harvey came to Italy and enrolled at the Medical University of Padua. He studied under the guidance of the famous anatomist Fabrix. Because of his hard work and active practice, his classmates praised him as a "little anatomist." In April 1602, Harvey received his medical doctorate from the University of Padua. After returning to London, he obtained a medical doctorate from Cambridge University. At that time, he was only 24 years old. In 1604, Harvey was elected as an alternate member of the Royal College of Medicine; In 1607, he became a formal member. In 1609, Harvey was recommended by the King and the Dean of the Royal College of Medicine to obtain the position of physician. He is very concerned about the sufferings of patients, personally visits patients with limited mobility, advocates that doctors "should do good things for the poor", and often treats the poor for free. He is a scientist with humanitarian ideas. In August 1615, Harvey was chosen as the keynote speaker of the Rumley Lecture at the Royal College of Medicine. In April 1616, he first proposed a theory of blood circulation. His speeches are still in the British Museum. In 1618, Harvey was appointed royal physician. In 1640, the British bourgeois revolution broke out, and he spent three years in exile abroad with the royal family.
