On this day, 39 years ago, on November 20, 1986 (October 19, 1986 in the lunar calendar), all the identities of the victims of the "China-US Cooperation Agency" were verified and they were chased as martyrs. On November 27, 1949, more than 300 Communist Party members and progressives were collectively killed by the Kuomintang reactionaries in the Baigongguan and Zhizidong prisons of the "China-US Cooperation Office". After the liberation of Chongqing, 236 victims, including Yang Hucheng and Luo Shiwen, were declared revolutionary martyrs. The remaining nearly a hundred victims were not designated as revolutionary martyrs because it was difficult to accurately assess their political identity and performance. Although the Southwest Military and Political Committee at that time issued a notice to continue collecting materials from these victims, before 1965, because no special investigation force was organized, only the situation of Zhong Lingyun and other 11 people was investigated, and they were chased as revolutionary martyrs. In December 1981, the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued a notice to speed up the review of undetermined martyrs. The Organization Department of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China immediately organized forces to carry out review work. Over the past few years, investigators have overcome numerous difficulties and identified the problems of 83 people. The party organizations respectively drew conclusions about seeking truth from facts from them, thus solving the legacy of a major historical event in our country's modern history. On November 20, 1986, the investigation and verification of the undetermined martyrs killed in the "SACO" prison ended. After various investigations, the situation of 83 people has been ascertained. Among them, 64 people including Xi Maozhao and Zhang Luping have been recognized as revolutionary martyrs with the approval of the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
