On this day, 97 years ago, on September 28, 1928 (August 15th of the lunar calendar), the Chong 'an Uprising. In the spring of 1928, the Chongan County Committee of the Communist Party of China, Fujian Province, based on the instructions of the provincial party committee and the experience of the peasant uprisings in Yiyang and Hengfeng in northeastern Jiangxi, led the farmers in the form of organizing a "mass meeting" to carry out the struggle against rent, debt and donations. In July, the General Command Headquarters of the Mass Corps was established, with Chen Geng as the commander-in-chief to prepare for the uprising. In mid-September, the Chong 'an County Committee of the Communist Party of China with Chen Lvjun as secretary decided to hold an uprising. On the 28th, farmers in Shangmei Township, Chong 'an County held an uprising. The uprising armed forces punished the evil gentry of the pine mill and destroyed the pine mill office. On October 2, farmers in Dongxiang, Chong 'an County, led by the people's team, held an uprising. Then, farmers in Beixiang and Xixiang also held an uprising, destroying the puppet police station, punishing bully landlords, and burning land deeds. After the uprising, the Chong 'an County Committee established guerrilla forces based on the popular team and carried out guerrilla warfare in the eastern and northern areas of Chong' an County. The guerrilla areas gradually expanded to Pucheng, Jianyang and other counties. The Chong 'an Uprising laid the foundation for the establishment of the Soviet Area in northern Fujian and the Red Army.
