Afghanistan declared independence on February 28, 1919
On 106 years ago today, February 28, 1919 (January 28, 1919 in the lunar calendar), Amanullah ascended the throne of Afghanistan. On February 28, 1919, Amanullah, a supporter of the Youth Afghan Party, ascended the throne. During the coronation ceremony, he declared: "... Afghanistan is a free and independent country and he does not recognize the ruling power of any foreign country." Since the Second British-Afghan War in 1880, Afghanistan has in fact become a British colony. The government is in name only, and all external activities are followed by the Indo-British government of India. Economically, they were completely unable to stand on their own feet and could only be subordinate to the British Empire and had been in an extremely backward situation for a long time. The vast majority of Afghanistan's residents are engaged in agriculture and have been exploited by landlords and tribal khan. The extremely slow-developing urban and rural handicrafts and a few semi-annual industrial workshops are also in a dying situation under the attack of foreign industrial products. However, the U.S. policy towards Afghanistan at that time was to continue to maintain this closed, semi-feudal and semi-colonial state and strongly support the establishment of the dictatorship of King Habibula Village. The Youth Afghan Party was formed in the early 20th century. It represents the interests of some progressive officers, officials, enlightened landlords and ethnic industrialists. It clearly put forward the requirements for national independence. After the First World War, with the development of national democratic forces around the world, dissatisfaction with Habibula's rule in Afghanistan also grew day by day. In 1918, Habibula was assassinated, and on February 21, 1919, he was stabbed to death again. Amanullah was Habibula's third son. He had no inheritance rights, but because he supported the Youth Afghanistan Progressive Program, he ascended the throne with the support of the Kabul garrison and many people.
