On this day, 118 years ago, June 17, 1907 (May 7, 1907 in the lunar calendar), Yang Cuixi's prostitute case intensified internal strife in the Qing court. Zai Zhen Yang Cuixi, the son of Prince Yi Kuang of Qing Dynasty, was a singer in Tianjin at the end of the Qing Dynasty. His son Zai Zhen Yan was Yan. Zai Zhen was the son of Prince Yi Kuang of Qing Dynasty. Duan Zhigui bought Yang Cuixi with huge sums of money and dedicated it to Zai Zhen, and was given the post of governor of Heilongjiang. The Beijing News, edited by Wang Kangnian and his wife Wang Heqing, was just launched in March. It published an article revealing the matter and caused a sensation in the capital. On May 7, censor Zhao Qilin petitioned Duan Zhigui to impeach him for being shameless, offering Tianjin geisha Yang Cuixi to Yi Kuang in Zaizhen, and 100,000 gold coins as Yi Kuang's birthday gift, so he was appointed as the governor of Heilongjiang. Empress Dowager Cixi then ordered Prince Chun Zaifeng and Grand Scholar Sun Jianai to conduct a thorough investigation and remove Duan Zhigui's title as governor. There was no need to act as governor of Heilongjiang, but Cheng Dequan was temporarily acting as governor. Zai Zhen heard the news and hid Yang Cuixi. In order to preserve the dignity of the royal family, Zai Feng and Sun Jianai replied to investigate that there was no evidence. On May 16, Zhao Qilin was dismissed for "false impeachment." Public opinion became even more uproar. The Qing court then removed Duan Zhigui from his post as governor of Heilongjiang, and Zai Zhen also asked to resign as minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce. The struggle between Qu Hongji, Cen Chunxuan and others and Yi Kuang and others intensified. Yi Kuang began to exclude Qu Hongji and Cen Chunxuan. On June 17, Yun Yuding, a scholar at the Imperial Academy, at the behest of Yi Kuang, petitioned Qu Hongji to co-sponsor the Grand Scholar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Military Affairs to secretly communicate with the Beijing News and instructed the officials to secretly collude with foreign aid, distribute followers, and seek personal fraud. Empress Dowager Cixi ordered Sun Jianai and Tie Liang to investigate. On that day, Empress Dowager Cixi dismissed Qu Hongji from his post and returned to his hometown. Hongji had once secretly requested pardon and return to Kangliang, which was exactly the Empress Dowager's jealousy. This time Yi Kuang took the opportunity to bribe Yun Yuding to impeach him. At the same time, Cen Chunxuan was expelled from Beijing. The Beijing News was also ordered to stop publishing.
