On April 29, 1903, students studying in Japan organized the "Russian Rejection Movement"
On this day, 122 years ago, April 29, 1903 (April 3, 1903, the lunar calendar), students studying in Japan organized the "Russian Rejection Movement." On April 29, 1903, the captain of the Russian Volunteer Corps, Lan Tianwei, a conference for students studying in Japan was held at the Jinhui Museum in Tokyo, Japan, with more than 500 international students attending the conference. The theme of the meeting was to protest against the seven unreasonable demands made by Tsar Russia to the Qing government. International students delivered speeches at the meeting one after another, demanding that a volunteer team be organized to resist Russia and vow to fight a decisive battle with Tsarist Russia. They say, people without a country can have a place to live or a place to study safely. Later, due to the obstruction and suppression of the Qing government, the "Russia Rejecting Movement" could not further develop and grow, and the Northern Expedition of the Russian Rejecting Volunteers did not take place. However, the patriotic sentiments expressed by the overseas students turned into the actual struggle against the decadent rule of the Manchu Qing Dynasty.
