On March 14, 2005 (February 5, 2005 in the lunar calendar), the Third Session of the Tenth National People's Congress passed the Anti-Secession Law. The "Anti-Secession Law" was passed at the Third Session of the Tenth National People's Congress. After approving the government work report, adopting the "Anti-Secession Law", and successfully completing various agendas, the "Anti-Secession Law" was concluded at the Great Hall of the People on the morning of March 14, 2005. 2901 representatives attended the closing meeting, which met the quorum. The closing meeting was presided over by Wu Bangguo, Executive Chairman and Executive Chairman of the Presidium of the Conference. Hu Jintao, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Zeng Qinghong, Huang Ju, Wu Guanzheng, Li Changchun, Luo Gan and other members of the presidium of the conference took seats on the rostrum. After voting, the meeting passed the Anti-Secession Law. There was a long and warm applause in the audience. Subsequently, President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China signed Presidential Order No. 34, promulgating the "Anti-Secession Law." This law will come into effect as of the date of promulgation.
