On this day, 81 years ago, on October 21, 1944 (September 5, 1944, the lunar calendar), Chiang Kai-shek launched the movement of 100,000 educated youth to join the army. Chiang Kai-shek delivered a speech to the soldiers on the expedition in Chongqing. On October 21, 1944, Chiang Kai-shek raised his fist at the military conference of educated youth and excitedly issued a slogan that made the youth's blood boil: "One inch of mountains and rivers, one inch of blood, one hundred thousand young people and one hundred thousand troops!" In view of the serious shortage of lower-level cadres and special forces in the China Army stationed in India and the Burmese Expeditionary Force, and the large number of allied forces coming to China in urgent need of translation, Chiang Kai-shek decided to launch a campaign of 100,000 educated youth to join the army. In September, Chiang Kai-shek called on educated young people to join the army at the National Political Council.
