On this day, 79 years ago, March 13, 1946 (February 10, 1946, the "Regulations on Punishing Traitors" were promulgated. On March 13, 1946, the National Government revised and promulgated the "Regulations on the Punishment of Traitors", which came into effect on the same day. The regulations stipulate the scope of application of this Law; those who conspire with an enemy country and commit one of the acts listed in this Law shall be sentenced to death or life imprisonment; those who have served in a puppet organization, agency and group have committed acts that are beneficial to the enemy and the puppet or are detrimental to the country or the people for a certain number of years shall not be a candidate for public office or appointed as a civil servant, and shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of one year but not more than seven years; Anyone who knowingly hides without reporting or harbors and connives as a traitor shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than one year but not more than seven years; those who commit the crimes in the preceding article shall confiscate all his property, but shall retain necessary living expenses for his family members; those who seize movable property, but shall retain necessary living expenses for his family members; those who knowingly conceal, buy, hide or impersonate the property that will be confiscated or sealed up for traitors shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years, criminal detention, or a fine.
