On this day, 61 years ago, on January 22, 1964 (December 8, 1963 in the lunar calendar), the Ministry of National Defense awarded the honorary title of "Hard Bones Sixth Company" to the Sixth Company of a certain department of the People's Liberation Army. On January 22, 1964, the Ministry of National Defense issued an order to award the honorary title of "Hard-Boned Sixth Company" to the Sixth Company of the First Regiment of the Wuhan Army. The naming conference of the "Hard Bones Sixth Company" was grandly held in Wuhan. Li Xuezheng, commander of the Sixth Company, and Yang Shoujie, instructor, accepted the honors awarded by the Ministry of National Defense on behalf of all officers and soldiers. Marshal Nie Rongzhen wrote an inscription for the Sixth Company: "Carry forward the hard-core spirit of the revolution, so that the political ideology, style, military technology and discipline of the troops can withstand all tests under any conditions." This company, praised by people as "having strong combat readiness thinking, strong military technology, and strong military and political discipline", was born in the Jizhong Plain, which was war-torn and war-torn. In March 1939, more than a dozen Red Army soldiers formed the earliest backbone of the Sixth Company. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, they participated in the Majiaying Blocking Battle and the Yetaishan Battle. Heroically resisted the Japanese invaders. During the War of Liberation, the Sixth Company participated in a series of important battles. The Kuomintang Hu Zong launched a key offensive in southern Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia. Under the command of the Party Central Committee, the soldiers of the Sixth Company galloped on the northwest battlefield. They participated in the Qinghuabian ambush battle in northeast Yan 'an. In the battle filled with bullets, the soldiers of the Sixth Company fought bravely to kill the enemy and made outstanding military achievements. They were awarded the title of "Heroic and Good at Fighting, Pioneering the enemy" and the glorious title of "Model Fighting Company". Many soldiers solemnly vowed to join the Communist Party of China amidst the smoke of artillery fire. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Sixth Company continued to maintain and carry forward the glorious tradition of our army, and its hard-core style was passed down from generation to generation. They successfully completed the task of suppressing bandits and opposing hegemony. They marched bravely and proudly across the Yalu River to participate in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. In 1962, they successfully completed the task of carrying out emergency combat readiness on the Fujian front line. The Sixth Company, which maintained the spirit of the war years, strictly built the company despite difficulties, and was regarded by the military region as a "red flag unit" and a "model for advanced companies." Entering a new era of reform and opening up, the Sixth Company has received the care of the party's second-generation leadership collective and the third-generation leadership collective. In 1985, the Sixth Company was once again awarded the honorary title of "Heroic Hard Sixth Company" by the Central Military Commission. Comrade Deng Xiaoping cordially received the comrades of the Sixth Company. Comrade Jiang Zemin, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, came to the Sixth Company and had a cordial conversation with the officers and men, giving the Sixth Company great encouragement.
