On this day, 90 years ago, on January 6, 1935 (December 2, 1934, the Red Army of China Workers and Peasants occupied Zunyi City. In early January 1935, the Central Red Army broke through the Wujiang River natural barrier in three routes from south to north. On January 6, the vanguard troops of the Red Army entered Zunyi City. On January 7, the Red Army fully occupied Zunyi City. The 4th Regiment of the Second Division of the First Red Army pursued Loushanguan and Tongzi, expanding the occupied area and ensuring the safety of the central organs. After occupying Zunyi, the Red Army was given valuable rest time and created good conditions for the holding of meetings of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
