On April 7, 1889, the Chilean poet Mistral (formerly known as Lucilla Godoy Alcayaga) was born in the Elki Valley north of Santiago and died in New York. His father died early and made a living independently in his early years. He gained cultural knowledge through self-study. He began publishing poems at the age of 14. At the age of 17, she fell in love with a railway employee, who committed suicide due to frustration. The nostalgia for the dead became the theme of her early creations, and the works were full of decadence. From 1911 to 1919, he worked in education in his hometown. In 1914, he won the first place in the San Diego Flower Festival Poetry Competition with "Dead Sonnets". From 1918 to 1920, he served as principal of Cape Arenas Girls 'High School. In 1921, he presided over the girls 'middle school in San Diego. In 1922, he was invited to participate in Mexico's educational reform. The first collection of poems,"Loneliness", was published in the same year. The brushstrokes were exquisite and touching, breaking through the style of modernist poetry that was popular in Latin America at that time. In 1924, he was invited to give lectures in the United States, and later served as a consul in some Latin American and European countries. In 1930,"Ten Principles of Art" was published, believing that there is no atheistic art in the world; beauty is God's shadow on earth; beauty refers to the beauty of the soul, and beauty means mercy and comfort. Since then, her poetry creation has undergone a significant transformation, from personal sadness to humanitarian love. The collection of poems "The Thorny Tree"(1938) cries out for the misfortunes of the poor, expresses injustice for the suffering of the Jewish nation, and prays for mercy for poor children. This creative tendency has had a profound impact on the development of lyrical poetry in Latin America. In September 1945, she won the Nobel Prize in Literature "because of her strong emotional lyrical poems, which made her name a symbol of ideals throughout Latin America." She became the first person in Latin America to win the Nobel Prize. In his later years, he served as special envoy to the United Nations. The collection of poems "Grape Press" published in 1955 expresses his love for the motherland and the people. He has also written some articles on culture and international peace movements.
