On this day, 77 years ago, on June 15, 1948 (May 9, 1948 in the lunar calendar), People's Daily was founded. The first issue of "People's Daily" was founded on June 15, 1946. The People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Shanxi-Hebei-Shandong-Henan Border Region of the Communist Party of China, was published and distributed in Handan and Wu 'an, Hebei. On June 15, 1948, the People's Daily of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan merged with the "Jinchaji Daily" of the Jiefang District of Shanxi, Chafang and Hebei, and became the People's Daily, the organ of the North China Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, which was published and distributed in Shijiazhuang, Hebei. On March 15, 1949, the site of People's Daily was moved to Peiping and continued to be published. According to the decision of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, starting from August of the same year, the People's Daily was changed to the organ newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, with Deng Tuo serving as president and editor-in-chief. In addition to being printed in Beijing, the newspaper is printed simultaneously in major cities across the country and distributed at home and abroad. On June 15, 1998, the People's Daily, the organ of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, celebrated its 50th anniversary.
