On this day, 67 years ago, on May 31, 1958 (April 13, 1958, the lunar calendar), France invited Charles de Gaulle to come out again. On May 31, 1958, the French government leaders, who were hesitant and powerless about the Algeria crisis, agreed to let de Gaulle come out again and give him the "special" powers he needed. Today in a small hotel in Paris not far from the Champs Elysees, leaders of all political parties except the Communist Party met with the general one after another.
