103 years ago today, on May 5, 1922 (April 9, 1922, lunar calendar), the Socialist Youth League of China was established. Beijing, Guangzhou, Changsha and other regions were established one after another. From May 5 to 10, 1922, the First National Congress of the Socialist Youth League of China was held in Guangzhou. There were 25 representatives attending the meeting, representing more than 5000 league members. The conference was presided over by Zhang Tailei. The "Program of the Socialist Youth League of China" and the "Charter of the Socialist Youth League of China" were adopted to announce the formal establishment of the Socialist Youth League of China. The program stipulates that the Youth League is "an organization of the young proletarians in China" and "strives for the complete liberation of the proletarians." It carries out work for young people under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The conference elected Shi Cuntong as the secretary of the Central Committee. In 1925, it was renamed the Communist Youth League of China. In November 1935, in order to unite the majority of young people to participate in the anti-Japanese war, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to reorganize the Communist Youth League and make it a broad and mass youth anti-Japanese and national salvation organization. Groups such as the Chinese National Liberation Vanguard, the Youth National Salvation Association, and the Youth Anti-Japanese Vanguard appeared successively. The New Democratic Youth League of China was officially established in 1949, and in May 1957 it was renamed the Communist Youth League of China (referred to as the "Communist Youth League").
