On this day, 58 years ago, May 15, 1967 (April 7, 1967, the Chinese government strongly protested the atrocities committed by the British authorities in Hong Kong against Hong Kong residents. On May 15, 1967, the head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the British Chargé d'affaires in China and delivered it to the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, expressing the most urgent and strongest protest against the atrocities committed by the British authorities in Hong Kong against Chinese workers and residents in Hong Kong. The statement pointed out that on the afternoon of May 6, Chinese workers at the San Po Kong artificial plastic flower factory fought against increased exploitation by the management. The British authorities in Hong Kong even dispatched armed police and "riot squads" to suppress the workers of the factory and other Chinese residents. Afterwards, the union chairman and worker representatives who went to the Hong Kong police station to protest were arrested. On the afternoon of the 11th, the British authorities in Hong Kong once again dispatched a large number of armed police officers, using batons, riot guns, tear gas repeatedly, and drove in military vehicles and helicopters to carry out a larger crackdown on unarmed workers and arrest many people. In response, my country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs lodged a strong protest with the British government.
