On July 4, Ji Hongchang decided to preemptively attack Duolun in one fell swoop. At 23:00 on the 7th, the Allied forces launched an attack in separate ways. After two days and three nights of fierce fighting, Ji Hongchang was the suicide squad led by the death squads. He crawled forward shirtless and climbed the city three times in a row, but it still did not work, with more than 200 casualties. At dawn on the 11th, the Allied forces attacked the city several times and were bombed by Japanese aircraft. The casualties were heavy, so they temporarily retreated to At 1 am on the 12th, Ji Hongchang used the darkness to organize another onslaught, and the city fired shots in response. The Allied forces finally entered the city from the north, west and south gates. After 3 hours of street fighting, they recaptured Duolun, which was the first time the Chinese army had regained lost ground since the "September 18".

It stirs the hearts of the dead and extends righteousness to the world." On the 26th, Tianjin's Yishi Daily said: "We only have stories of lost territories, and no one has done the work of recovering lost territories. Some, Ji Hongchang recovered Duolun for the first time." And asked the authorities to "do not blame Qin Hui and sin Wu Mu". In terms of donations, provincial authorities and various people's organizations donated a total of nearly 400,000 yuan. Thirteen overseas Chinese groups also issued a telegram, calling on patriotic overseas Chinese living abroad to support the Allied Forces with military salaries.
