103 years ago today, on March 4, 1922 (February 6, 1922), the British army in Hong Kong caused the "Shatin Massacre". On March 1, 1922, workers in Hong Kong's post and telecommunications, banking, shipbuilding and other industries jointly held a general strike, with more than 100,000 people. This was the climax of the strike by Hong Kong seafarers since January to resist the oppression and exploitation of British capitalists. The strike struggle paralyzed all shipping in Hong Kong, interrupted traffic in the city, and brought production to a standstill. On March 4, the striking workers were attacked by British police while walking through Shatin Village, killing 6 people and injuring hundreds, creating the "Shatin Massacre" that shocked the whole country.
