He was admitted to the Northeast Army Officer Academy in his early years. In 1925, he entered the Morano Higher Aviation School in France to study. In September, he entered the Yister Army Air Combat School to study advanced flight. After graduation, he served as a flight instructor, captain of the first team of the Air Force's destroyer aircraft, captain of the sixth brigade of the Air Force, commander of the Air Force's destroyer aircraft and captain of the fourth brigade. On August 14, 1937, he shot down 2 enemy aircraft during the Anti-Japanese War in Songhu, setting a precedent for the Chinese Air Force to shoot down Japanese aircraft. The aviation brigade he led made great achievements in the early days of the Anti-Japanese War, having shot down dozens of Japanese aircraft, and set a record of 6-0 in air combat (six enemy aircraft were shot down, and none of them were killed). He himself and three other air heroes were also called the four ace pilots of the Chinese Air Force. On November 21, while being ordered to Lanzhou to accept the return of Soviet aircraft, he was attacked by enemy planes and unfortunately died.
