On September 11, 1943, Li Shiqun, the chief of the No. 76 spy service, Li Shiqun, director of the Nanjing Wang Puppet Government Secret Service Headquarters, director of the Police Department, and chairman of Jiangsu Province, was poisoned to death by the Japanese Military Police Special Higher Command. Li Shiqun was born in 1905 in Suichang, Zhejiang. Joined the Communist Party of China in his early years. Graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and Shanghai University. After the failure of the Great Revolution, he studied in the Soviet Union and studied at Oriental University. He returned to China in 1928 and engaged in underground activities as a reporter for Shuwen News Agency. In 1932, he was arrested by the Kuomintang Central Committee secret agents, surrendered himself and defected, and was appointed as an intelligence officer directly under the Shanghai Work Area of the Party Affairs Investigation Section of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he lurked in Nanjing. In 1938, he fled to Hong Kong and joined the Japanese. Later, he returned to Shanghai to do intelligence spy work for the Japanese invaders. In 1939, he served as Secretary-General of the Special Agents Committee of the Central Executive Committee of the Wang Kuomintang Party and Deputy Director of the Special Agents Headquarters. He brutally persecuted the anti-Japanese military and civilians.
