It is rare in military history for the military to report such a large number of cadres above the military level who have been dismissed. The 16 senior officers investigated were Wang Minggui, former Political Commissar of the Air Defense Command Academy, Fang Wenping, former Commander of the Shanxi Province Military Region, Wei Jin, Deputy Political Commissar of the Xizang Military Region, Ye Wanyong, former Political Commissar of the Sichuan Province Military Region, Yang Jinshan, Deputy Commander of the Chengdu Military Region, Zhang Qibin, former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Jinan Military Region, Fu Linguuo, Deputy Chief of Staff of the General Logistics Department Headquarters, Xu Caihou, former Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and Liu Zheng, Deputy Minister of the General Logistics Department. Among them, the news that Liu Zheng, deputy director of the General Logistics Department, Yu Daqing, deputy political commissar of the Second Artillery Corps, and others were investigated was officially disclosed for the first time. The Chengdu Military Region has the largest number of people under investigation. Judging from the distribution of units to which the officers under investigation belong, there is one member of the Central Military Commission (Xu Caihou), two members of the General Logistics Department (Fu Linguo and Liu Zheng), and three members of the Chengdu Military Region.(Wei Jin, Ye Wanyong, Yang Jinshan), 1 person from the Beijing Military Region (Fang Wenping), 1 person from the Jinan Military Region (Zhang Qibin), 1 person from the Shenyang Military Region (Zhang Daixin), 1 person from the Lanzhou Military Region (Fan Changmi), 2 people from the Second Artillery Corps (Yu Daqing, Chen Qiang), and 4 people are military academy personnel, including 2 from the Nanjing Political College (Daweimin, Ma Xiangdong), 1 person from the Air Defense Command College (Wang Minggui), and 1 person from the People's Liberation Army Information Engineering University (Gao Xiaoyan). Among the officers at or above the military level involved in major corruption cases announced this time, in terms of the units at or above the military region level to which they belong, the Chengdu Military Region has the largest number of people investigated. One person was sentenced to life and 15 have not yet been convicted. Among the 16 people under investigation, Chen Qiang, deputy commander of Unit 96301, has been convicted. His crimes include corruption, bribery and huge amounts of property of unknown origin. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Military Court of the General Command of the People's Liberation Army in May 2014. The other 15 people are suspected of violating the law and discipline but have not yet been convicted. Among them, 6 have been transferred to judicial authorities, and 9 have been filed for investigation by military prosecutors. In the explanation of the reasons why these officers were investigated, six people, including Wang Minggui, Fang Wenping, Wei Jin, Ye Wanyong, Yang Jinshan, and Zhang Qibin, were accused of "suspected of serious violations of discipline." Nine people, including Xu Caihou, Fu Linguo, Liu Zheng, Daweimin, Gao Xiaoyan, Ma Xiangdong, Zhang Daixin, Fan Changmi, and Yu Daqing, were "suspected of committing illegal crimes", indicating that the nature is more serious and the punishment will be more severe.
