On this day 114 years ago, on May 25, 1911 (April 27, 1911 in the lunar calendar), Mexican rebels won the resignation of President Díaz. On May 21, a peace agreement was signed between the regime of Díaz and interim President Francisco-I-Madero. In view of the growing uprising led by Madero, Diaz began recruiting volunteers in April this year, but it was too late. On May 1, Diaz suffered the greatest losses, and the rebels captured Durango, the capital of the first state. Fifteen days later, Diaz signed his resignation. During the ups and downs of the war, a 20,000-strong American army and two naval fleets have been closely monitoring the insurgents' movements.
