On February 23, 2007 (January 6, 2007 in the lunar calendar), Chadian Prime Minister Pascal Joadimnagi died. Pascal Joadimnagi (1950 - February 23, 2007) was the former Prime Minister of Chad. Pascal Joadimnagi and Chad's President Deby belonged to the Patriotic Salvation Movement. He served as Chad's Minister of Tourism Development and Chairperson of the Constitutional Council. In July 2004, when the Chadian government was restructured, he became the Minister of Agriculture. During a strike in Chad in February 2005, former Prime Minister Moussa Faki failed to handle it properly and resigned. Pascal Joadimnagi was later promoted by Chad's President Deby to become the country's Prime Minister. In the early hours of February 23, 2007, Joa'adim Nagy died of cerebral hemorrhage in a hospital in Paris, France. The Chadian government issued a statement on the same day expressing "deep sorrow" over Joa'adim Nagy's death and praising him as a "great statesman", "with a high sense of responsibility" and "outstanding contributions to the people of Chad".
