On this day 47 years ago, on December 28, 1978 (November 29, 1978 lunar calendar), the Regulations of the State Council on Invention Awards were issued. The Regulations of the People's Republic of China on Invention Awards were issued on December 28, 1978. The regulations are divided into 14 articles. The invention mentioned in the regulations refers to a major new achievement in science and technology. It must simultaneously meet the 3 conditions that were not available in the past, advanced and can be applied after practice. The State Science and Technology Commission shall lead the national invention award work uniformly. All departments of the State Council and the science and technology committees of all provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions are responsible for leading the declaration and review of inventions in their respective departments and regions. Awards are divided into 4 categories according to the significance of the invention project, and bonuses of 10,000 yuan, 5,000 yuan, 2,000 yuan and 1,000 yuan are issued respectively, and invention certificates and medals are issued. Particularly significant inventions are listed as special prizes, which shall be reported to the State Council for approval by the State Science and Technology Commission and rewarded separately.
