On this day, 139 years ago, March 5, 1886 (January 30, 1886, the lunar calendar), Dong Biwu's birthday. Dong Biwu Dong Biwu was born on March 5, 1886. His original name was Dong Xiancong, also known as Dong Yongwei, with the word Jieshe and the name Biwu. A native of Huang 'an, Hubei (now Hong' an). In 1903, he was admitted as a scholar. In 1905, he was admitted to the Hubei "Wenpu" School, graduated in 1910, and was awarded the title of Ba Gong by the Qing Dynasty Academic Department. Later, he served as a teacher in Huangzhou. He participated in the Revolution of 1911 and joined the China League in the same year. In 1914, he was admitted to the "Private Nihon University" in Tokyo, Japan to study law, and joined the Chinese Revolutionary Party founded by Sun Yat-sen in Japan. In June 1915, he returned to China to engage in anti-Yuan activities and was arrested and imprisoned twice. After being released from prison in 1916, he went to Japan again. He returned to China in 1918 and participated in the Dharma Protection Movement. In 1919, after participating in the May 4th Movement in Shanghai, Wuhan Middle School was founded to teach Chinese. In the autumn of 1920, the Communist Group was established in Wuhan. In July 1921, he attended the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China and was a representative of the Wuhan Group. Later, the party organization in Hubei Province was established and developed, and he served as a member of the Wuhan District Committee of the Communist Party of China, Minister of the Hubei Ministry of Democracy, and Member of the Hubei Provincial Party Committee. During the first cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, he led the establishment of the Kuomintang Party Headquarters in Hubei Province, and served as director of the Kuomintang Working Committee in Hubei Province and alternate member of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang. In 1928, he went to study at Sun Yat-sen University and Lenin College in Moscow. After returning to China in 1932, he served successively as President of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Secretary of the Central Party Affairs Committee, Executive Member of the Central Workers and Peasants Democratic Government, President of the Supreme Court, and Deputy Director of the Workers and Peasants Procuratorial Committee in Jiangxi Central Revolutionary Base. Participated in the Long March in October 1934. After arriving in northern Shaanxi, he served as president of the Party School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and acting chairman of the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government. During and after the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he was one of the representatives of the Communist Party of China in negotiations with the Kuomintang. In 1945, he represented the Jiefang District at the United Nations Constitutional Conference in San Francisco. He has served as Deputy Secretary of the Southern Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Chongqing Working Committee of the CPC, Minister of Finance and Economics of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the North China Bureau, and Chairman of the North China People's Government. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served successively as Director of the Central Financial and Economic Commission, Vice Premier of the State Council, Director of the Political and Legal Committee of the State Council, President of the Supreme People's Court, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Secretary of the Central Supervisory Commission of the Communist Party of China, Vice Chairman and Acting Chairman of the People's Republic of China. Since January 1975, he has served as Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Fourth National People's Congress. He is a member of the Sixth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, a member of the Political Bureau of the 7th, 8th and 9th Central Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the 10th Central Committee. Published "Selected Works of Dong Biwu","Selected Works of Dong Biwu's Political and Legal Works","Selected Poems of Dong Biwu", and "Chronicle of Dong Biwu".
