On this day, 60 years ago, on February 26, 1965 (January 25, 1965 in the lunar calendar), the State Council issued the "Decision on the Construction System of the Southwest Third Line." On February 26, 1965, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued the "Decision on Issues Concerning the Construction System of the Southwest Third Line." It was decided to establish the Southwest Third Line Construction Committee to strengthen leadership over the entire Southwest Third Line Construction. On March 29, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the "Reply on the Composition of the Southwest Third Line Construction Committee" agreeing to appoint Li Jingquan as the director and Cheng Zihua and Yan Xiufeng as the deputy directors.
