On this day, 89 years ago, on January 2, 1936 (December 8, 1935 in the lunar calendar), Pingjin students formed a propaganda group for the south to resist the Japanese. Propaganda group carried out anti-Japanese propaganda in Gu'an County, Hebei Province. On January 2, 1936, the "Pingjin Southward Expansion Propaganda Group" composed of students from Pingjin and Tianjin set out from Peiping and Tianjin respectively and descended south along Pinghan Road to expand anti-Japanese propaganda in rural areas. The propaganda group is divided into 4 groups. One group is composed of Peking University and other large and medium-sized schools in Dongcheng area, with Peking University as the leader; the second group is composed of Xicheng Middle Schools such as Northeastern University, Normal University, China University, Law and Business School, with Law and Business School as the leader; The third regiment is composed of Tsinghua University, Yanjing University, Fu Jen Catholic University and other universities in the western suburbs and northern cities, with Tsinghua University as the leader; the fourth regiment is composed of Tianjin Beiyang Institute of Technology and Hebei Law and Business School, with Beiyang Institute of Technology as the leader. Most of the members of the publicity groups of each school are "one or two." There are about 500 activists in the Ninth Movement in total. In late 1999, the propaganda group was surrounded by military and police in Baoding and other places and was forced to return to Peiping and Tianjin.
