On this day, 43 years ago, on January 18, 1982 (December 24, 1981, the lunar calendar), China historian Huang Xianfan passed away. Huang Xianfan (November 13, 1899-January 18, 1982) was a famous modern historian, educator, ethnographer and social activist in China. Originally known as Gan Jinying, Zhuang nationality, her ancestral home is Fusui County, Guangxi. In 1926, he studied at Beijing Normal University under Chen Yuan and Qian Xuantong. He studied for nine years and then studied at Imperial University of Tokyo in Japan (now the University of Tokyo) for further study. After returning to China, he served as professor of history at Guangxi University, Sun Yat-sen University, National Guilin Normal University, Guangxi Normal University and other universities, and became the first university professor of Zhuang nationality in my country. He has served concurrently as a researcher at the Guangxi Institute of Education, dean of Guangxi University, dean of the Chinese Department, director of the library, and president of Lijiang Amateur University. He has been elected as a representative of the First National People's Congress, a member of the Ethnic Committee of the National People's Congress, and a member of the Central Foreign Cultural Liaison Committee.
