Otto Weininger (April 3, 1880-October 4, 1903) was an Austrian philosopher. Since his youth, Weininger has shown precocious talents in natural sciences, mathematics, and humanities. His language genius is particularly prominent. At the age of 16, he planned to publish an etymology paper on the study of Greek adjectives in the Homer epic. In 1898, he entered the University of Vienna to study philosophy. In 1902, he received a doctorate in philosophy with the first part of his thesis "Sex and Character: An Examination of Biology and Psychology." He also officially converted to Christianity on the same day as receiving his degree. In 1903,"Sex and Character"(Geschlechtd Charakter) was expanded and published, the same year, Weininger shot himself. Soon,"Sex and Character" sold well internationally and was translated into dozens of languages. His friend Rappaport compiled his aphoristic essays and published them as "On the Ultimate Thing"(On the Ultimate Thing. These two books are all that the comet-like Weininger left to this world. On October 4, 1903, Otto rented a room where Schwarzspanierstrase15, Beethoven died and shot himself in the room. Comment: Philosophers are always lonely.
