James Harold Wilson, Baron Wilson of Riverau (March 11, 1916-May 24, 1995), was one of the most important British politicians of the 20th century. He won the general elections in 1964, 1966, February 1974 and June 1974 respectively. In 1934, he entered Jesus College at Oxford University to study history. Appointed as Congressional Secretary to the Ministry of Civil Service. Two years later, he was reassigned as overseas trade secretary. During his tenure, he visited the Soviet Union several times to discuss trade matters, but these foreign visits were later accused of collaborating with the enemy. On October 14, 1947, at the age of 31, Wilson was appointed chairman of the Trade Commission and joined the cabinet, becoming the youngest cabinet member in the 20th century. In the 1964 general election, the Labor Party narrowly won, gaining a four-seat majority in the House of Commons, and Wilson became Prime Minister.
