Sudan launched the Mahdi uprising

On August 12, 1881, Sudan launched the Mahdi uprising. Mahdi is the savior of Islam. When Sudan's national hero Mohammed Ahmed launched the people's anti-British uprising, he described himself as "the sacred leader appointed by God and the Mahdi expected by all." The British governor in Sudan mobilized a crusade team of more than 200 people to the island of Aba, where Ahmed lived, to prepare for arrest. The islanders of less than 300 people used swords, spears and wooden sticks as weapons. Under Ahmed's command, they defeated the British colonial army in one fell swoop in the early morning of August 12, killing 120 soldiers and 6 officers. This was the first victory of the Mahdi movement, which officially launched the Sudanese anti-British uprising.

An unyielding nation worthy of respect. The picture shows the leader of the uprising, calling himself Mahdi, formerly known as Mohammed Ahmed 1848-1885
