On this day, 93 years ago, on September 22, 1932 (August 22, 1932, the lunar calendar), Zhang Zongchang was assassinated by Han Fuju's men. In September 1932, Zhang Zongchang was stabbed to death. Zhang Zongchang was a native of Ye County, Shandong Province. In his early years, he became a Hu bandit in the Northeast. After the Revolution of 1911, he joined Hu Ying, the commander of the Shandong People's Army, and followed him to Shanghai as the commander of the Guangfu Corps. In 1913, he joined his direct line Feng Guozhang, and in 1921 he joined Zhang Zuolin. In the Second Zhifeng War in 1924, he led his troops to defeat the Zhijun, expanded his strength, and renamed himself the commander of the First Army of the Xuanfu Army. In April 1925, he served as the Military Affairs Supervisor of Shandong Province. In December, he and the direct governor Li Jinglin formed the Zhi-Shandong Alliance Army and appointed himself as deputy commander-in-chief. In 1926, he served as Commander-in-Chief and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Anjun Army. At the beginning of 1927, he went south to support Sun Chuanfang in fighting against the National Revolutionary Army. In May of the following year, he withdrew from Shandong under the joint attack of Chiang Kai-shek and Feng Yuxiang. Later, he lived in Dalian and Japan for several years. After returning to China after the September 18th Incident, in September this year, Han Fuju ordered Zhang's enemy Zheng Jicheng to assassinate him at Jinan Station.
