On this day 115 years ago, on January 25, 1910 (December 15, 1909 lunar calendar), Muhammad Jinnah became a "Bombay Muslim member" of the Indian Legislative Council. Chairperson of the All India Muslim League, Pakistani leader M-A-Jinnah (right) and Chairperson of the Bombay Provincial Union Chandraga Muhammad Ali Jinnah (1947-1948) Founder of Pakistan and first Governor General. Born in Karachi on December 25, 1876, died in the same place on September 11, 1948. Enrolled at Lincoln College of Law in London in 1892. Worked as a lawyer in Bombay in 1896. Joined the Indian National Congress Party in 1906. Followed moderate leaders D. Nauroj and G.K. Gokar. Elected as a member of the Central Legislative Assembly by Bombay Muslims on January 25, 1910. In 1924, he was elected chairperson of the "Muslim League". In February 1942, the British government declared full independence for India, and on August 14, Jinnah was sworn in as the first governor of the Pakistani Dominion in his birthplace of Karachi.
