95 years ago today, February 9, 1930 (January 11, 1930 in the lunar calendar), the anti-colonial An Phu Uprising in Vietnam. On February 9, 1930, 200 soldiers from the Anphu Fortress led by the Kuomintang of Vietnam held an anti-colonial uprising. Although the uprising ended in failure, it marked a turning point in the history of the revolutionary movement in Vietnam. 1930 was an unprecedented year for the revolutionary struggle in Vietnam. On February 3 of that year, Ho Chi Minh held a party unification conference in Hong Kong to unify and merge the three communist organizations of Vietnam (the Revolutionary Youth Comrades Association, the New Vietnam Revolutionary Party, and the Communist Party of Vietnam) into the Communist Party of Vietnam in order to more effectively lead the domestic revolutionary struggle. They strongly supported all revolutionary movements led by the Kuomintang of Vietnam. The Anpei Fortress Uprising was the largest uprising secretly instigated by the Kuomintang at that time. The uprising, which developed rapidly at the beginning, quickly spread to other nearby areas, directed its finger at Hanoi's French colonial regime, making Hanoi particularly nervous. However, the uprising was quickly brutally suppressed by the French colonial authorities, with more than 50 people shot dead and thousands thrown into prison. The failure of the uprising also led to the disintegration of the Kuomintang of Vietnam and ended the revolutionary period in Vietnam led by the national bourgeoisie represented by the Kuomintang. The burden of revolution fell on the shoulders of the Communists, and a new stage of the national democratic revolution led by the proletarian of Vietnam began.
