Scottish poet Robert Burns has died

Robert Burns (25 January 1759 - 21 July 1796) was a Scottish poet.

He was familiar with Scottish folk songs and ancient legends since he was a child, and he collected and organized folk songs, mainly writing in Scottish. The poems he wrote were influenced by folk songs, were popular, smooth, easy to sing, and were widely circulated among the people. He was considered a national poet.
