Seishiro Iwaki, a Japanese army general and a Class-A war criminal. Born on January 21, 1885, Iwate Prefecture. Graduated from Army University. Participated in the Russo-Japanese War. He served as a staff officer of the Japanese army stationed in China and had long been active in Kunming, Wuhan, Shenyang and other places. From 1929 to 1934, he served as a senior staff officer of the Kwantung Army and a ruling adviser to the puppet Manchukuo. He actively planned the "September 18th" Incident with Kanami Ishihara and others. In 1934, he served as deputy chief of staff of the Kwantung Army, creating the "independence" and Suiyuan incidents in Inner Mongolia. In 1936, he served as chief of staff of the Kwantung Army and general of Jinzhong. In 1937, he served as commander of the 5th Division and was defeated in the Battle of Taiyuan and Xuzhou. He was appointed Secretary of State for War in June 1938. In September 1939, he served as chief of staff of the Japanese dispatched army to invade China. In 1941, he was promoted to general and served as commander of the Japanese army stationed in Korea. In April 1945, he served as commander of the 7th Front Army and commanded Japanese operations in Malaya. In 1948, he was sentenced to hanging by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
