The three regiments of the Kuomintang Lu Dachang Department took advantage of the danger to block the Red Army's advance. On the same day, the Red Army attacked head-on and failed to break through the Kuomintang defensive positions. On the 17th, two companies of the Red Army climbed over the cliffs and penetrated the sides of the Kuomintang army, defeating the defending enemy in one fell swoop. After the breakthrough of Lazikou, the Central Red Army entered the open area of Gannan, and a channel north to the Shaanxi-Gansu region was opened. On September 18, the vanguard troops of the Shaanxi-Gansu Detachment of the China Workers and Peasants Red Army arrived at Hadapu, south of Minshan County, Gansu Province. Various departments of the Red Army took a break in the Hadapu area. On the 21st, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China stationed in Hadapu.
