On August 1, 1938, Chinese optics expert Jiang Zhuying was born
On this day, 87 years ago, on August 1, 1938 (July 6, 1938, the lunar calendar), China optical expert Jiang Zhuying was born. Jiang Zhuying was born on August 1, 1938 in an old employee family in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. When he was 7 years old, he returned to his ancestral home in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province with his parents. In 1956, Jiang Zhuying was admitted to the Department of Physics at Peking University. He graduated in 1962 and was admitted to the postgraduate study of Wang Daheng, a famous optician and director of Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics. Since then, he has been engaged in research on optical transfer functions at the institute. In 1965, my country's first optical transfer function measurement device was successfully developed, and its quality reached the first-class level of similar foreign devices. After 1966, he taught himself computer theory and applied technology, mastered five foreign languages: English, German, French, Russian and Japanese, and was responsible for establishing my country's first optical transfer function measurement laboratory. He made pioneering work in optical transfer function research. He has made outstanding achievements in color optics, optical inspection, x-ray testing technology, etc., and has also contributed to the application of colorimetry and soft x-ray testing technology. The "Optimization Program for Color TV Camera Color Correction Matrix" and the "Technical Standard Method for Color TV Zoom Lens" were compiled to solve the technical problem of color TV realism. He conducted a lot of experiments on the quality of ultra-optical surfaces, making the accuracy of x-ray detection reach one 100,000 of a hair. He is an influential scholar in the optical field of my country. He once served as acting director and associate researcher of the Fourth Office of Changchun Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics, China Academy of Sciences. On June 15, 1982, he was on a business trip to Chengdu, Sichuan. Due to overwork, his condition worsened and he died unfortunately.
