Between 1884 and 1890, he attacked the Wadai Kingdom and occupied large areas of the territories of Darcodi, Salamat and other kingdoms. In 1892, he defeated the Kingdom of Bagirmi and occupied large areas of the Shari and Logun River basins. From 1893 to 1896, the Kaniem-Bornu Kingdom was destroyed and its capital, Kukava, was occupied. On the basis of conquest, Rabah Zubair established his own kingdom, with its capital in Dikwa in 1893. In 1897, the French army invaded the Kingdom of Bagirmi and signed an alliance treaty with the Sudan, instigating the Kingdom of Bagirmi to oppose Rabah Zubair. Rabah Zubair sent troops to attack the Kingdom of Bagirmi and dealt a heavy blow to the French army. In 1900, the French army invaded Chad from three routes: north, west and south. On April 22, it fought fiercely with Rabah Zubair's army in Qusseri, and Rabah Zubair was defeated.
