The project starts from Zhanjiang, an important town in western Guangdong, through the Leizhou Peninsula, across the Qiongzhou Strait, with a total length of 530 kilometers. It was completed and opened to traffic on January 7, 2003. This is the 138-kilometer Zhan (Jiang) Hai (An) Line of the Guangdong-Hai Railway under construction (taken on November 14, 2001).
