On April 10, 1993, Tang Shubei (right), Executive Vice President of the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait, and Qiu Jinyi, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Taiwan Strait Exchange Foundation, initialled the "Agreement on Verification of the Use of Cross-Strait Notary Certificates" and "Agreement on Cross-Strait Registered Mail Enquiries and Compensation Matters" at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.
