After Xuanwumen changes, Emperor Taizong of Tang Li Shimin ascended the throne of the emperor. He worked hard, humbly advised, and selected talents. Emperor Taizong of Tang remembered the heroes who followed him in the east and west, risked their lives and made plans. On March 23, 643 (February 28, the 17th year of Tang Zhenguan), he issued an edict: Draw the images of 24 heroes in Lingyan Pavilion. They are: Changsun Wuji, Li Xiaogong, Du Ruhui, Wei Zheng, Fang Gongling, Gao Shikang, Yuchi Jingde, Li Jing, Xiao Yu, Duan Zhixuan, Changsun Shunde, Liu Hongji, Qu Tutong, Yin Kaishan, Chai Shao, Zhang Liang, Hou Junji, Zhang Gongjin, Cheng Zhijie, Yu Shinan, Liu Zhenghui, Tang Jian, Li Shisheng, Qin Shubao, Lingyan Pavilion is located on the side of the Sanqing Palace in the southwest of the Imperial Palace. The pavilion is divided into three floors. The first layer depicts the most meritorious minister Zaipu; the middle layer depicts the king who has outstanding merits; the latter layer depicts other meritorious ministers with great merits, and the portraits are all facing north. According to the ancient ritual "Jun Nan Chen Bei". To show loyalty and respect to the emperor, these portraits were painted by the famous painter Yan Liben.
