Thirty years ago today, on April 16, 1995 (March 17, 1995 in the lunar calendar), news educator Gu Zhizhong passed away. On April 16, 1995, Gu Zhizhong, a famous journalist and journalist educator, passed away in Beijing due to illness. Gu Zhizhong was born in Shanghai in 1898. In 1923, he joined the Shanghai Times as a reporter, and in 1926, he served as director of the interview department of the Shanghai News. In his spare time, he devoted himself to journalism education. In 1928, he founded the School of Civil Journalism in Shanghai and served as its dean. During the "May 30th" Movement, the "September 18th" Incident, and the "December 8" and "August 13th" Shanghai Anti-Japanese War, he conducted in-depth on-site interviews. He was wanted by the Wang puppet regime for actively participating in anti-Japanese and national salvation activities, and later transferred to Yangon, Myanmar to compile and organize an overseas Chinese newspaper to continue promoting anti-Japanese. In 1942, he founded the Chongqing Minzhi Journalism College in Chongqing, and continued the Minzhi Journalism College in Shanghai from 1946 to 1954, cultivating a large number of progressive young people and devoting themselves to journalism. In 1954, he worked as editor and editor at Beijing Higher Education Press. In 1983 and 1985, he and his early students resumed the new junior college of civil governance in Chongqing and Beijing respectively. During the long road of 72 years of journalism work, he has always adhered to truth and progress. He has written "Journey to the West","To Qinghai","Northeast Yutian Lu","Fighting Journalists","Journalist Career", etc., and translated "The Romance of the Gods" into English.
